Search Committee

Current Status (as of 4/14/2008):

  • FInal batch of candidate resumes were received from the Canon Deployment Office, Diocese of Washington.
  • Communication letters were sent to all candidates thanking them for receipt of their applications.
  • Committee discussed and thoroughly evaluated all candidate resumes received. A list of candidates was formed from which to perform phone interviews.
  • Search Committee met on 4/14/08. See minutes below.
Next Steps:

  • Set up phone interviews with selected candidates.
  • After phone interviews are performed, a final and smaller list of candidates will be determined. Reference and background checks will then be performed on these remaining candidates.
  • Formal interviews and visitation of remaining candidates will then be arranged by the committee.
  • Committee members will then discuss and vote on the best three candidates to present to the Vestry.

Search Committee Meeting Minutes (4/14/2008):

  • Meeting was opened in prayer by Tom Hood. All members of the committee were present: Greg Gill, Tom Hood, Gay Scott, Janice Diggs, Sharon Voros, Bourne Garner, Sheila Thomas and Deanne Chevannes-Adams.
  • The current status of our Interim Rector, Dr. Nancy James and its impact on the search process was discussed.
  • It was agreed by committee members to continue to inform the Congregation of its progress through the Parish web site and through announcements at Sunday services.
  • A thorough review of candidate resumes was performed by the committee.
  • A list of promising candidates was created from which to perform phone interviews. Selected candidates will be contacted to schedule phone interviews in the coming weeks (some before the committee's next meeting.)
  • It was agreed by majority that the next Search Committee meeting will take place on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 7pm at Church House in Croom. Phone interviews will take place before and after the committee's next meeting.
  • Meeting was adjourned.
